My bunny loves this hay

Looks and smells great to me. But my bunnies think and experience it differently :( All the yellows are ignored and left behind. Lots of waste.

There is mould throughout the box of hay, which is completely unsafe for rabbits. I’ll be contacting customer service to request a refund. I checked it carefully before giving it to my bunny (after reading previous reviews) and I’m glad I did. I wouldn’t recommend.

The quality has gone way down since I started purchasing. The last box I received was yellow full a big chunk of it was loose seeds and it was full of mold. I reached out through email and have received no response in 3 weeks. My food obsessed bunny would not eat it and I had to purchase different hay. Absolutely unacceptable in general but especially for the price.

I have a monthly subscription for Oaten Hay. The lot I have received this month is very poor quality compared to what I normally receive. Mostly straw like with black mould spots.

It used to be very good quality and my bun really loved it, but this time the two boxes of oaten hay were really bad. I had to throw out more than half of each box because of mold. I just ordered two more boxes, but if they turn out like the ones in the photos, I won’t be ordering again.

Someone just couldn’t wait!! Demolishing the box to get to the hay before it’s even been unpacked. The proof is in the “bunny”.

  3. TM

The oaten hay is always so fresh when I received it. Delivery has been super quick. My bunny loves the smell and taste of it. It’s great for keeping his teeth down.

  4. CD

The oaten hay, I’ve been buying for a few months now. Some batches late last year were more yellow which my bunny still ate but I just bought a new batch of oaten last week and it looks so green and smells amazing.
My bunny absolutely loves it. Delivery is super quick too!!!

  5. J

Best Oaten Hay I have ever had! Bunny loves it. Also big plus that it is not packaged in plastic.

Why Choose Barwon Hay?

Handpicked Quality: Carefully grown, selected and hand packed to ensure only the finest hay makes it into every box, guaranteeing the best in quality and freshness.

No Chaff: Ever noticed other brands having very short, chopped up pieces of hay? Well, this is due to a process called chaffing, makes it quicker and easier to pack. Here at Barwon Hay, we put the extra effort into packing only the original product – Giving you long pieces of grass to feed – perfect for wearing down those ever-growing Rabbit teeth!

Freshness Guaranteed: We only pack small quantities at a time, this means it’s fresh when it lands at your door. Our hay does not sit around in warehouses for months at a time, which often leads to deterioration.

100% Australian Grown: All product is grown on our own farm, by us, near Geelong Victoria
